What CapoScore is not

Last Updated: 10/08/26

CapoScore reads behavioural signals in video: facial expression, heart rate estimated from skin colour changes, voice, and the words spoken. It compares a person's delivery on one topic with that person's own baseline and describes where the signals line up and where they do not. Before you rely on a report, read this page together with our Terms of Service.

1. CapoScore is not a lie detector

CapoScore does not detect lies and does not tell you whether a statement is true or false. No technology can read a person's mind from a camera. A report describes signals in a recording; it does not determine what was said is accurate, what the speaker believed, or what the speaker intended. We never use the words "lie" or "deception" to describe a person in a report, and neither should you when you repeat what a report says.

2. CapoScore is not a finding of fact

A report is an opinion produced by software. It is not a finding that anyone said anything false, knew anything, hid anything, or meant anything. It is not evidence of a person's character, honesty, health, or state of mind. It is not a medical, psychological, legal, or financial assessment, and it is not a consumer report or background check.

3. The reads are probabilistic and can be wrong

Every read is a statistical comparison against a baseline built from the same person's other recordings. Camera quality, lighting, compression, cuts, a short baseline, background noise, an off-screen interviewer, nerves, illness, medication, caffeine, or simply an unusual day can all move the signals. Two runs on the same footage can differ slightly. A report can be wrong in either direction: it can flag an honest answer and miss a dishonest one. Treat each read as one input among many, not as a conclusion.

4. Human review is required

A qualified person must review any report before it is acted on. CapoScore must never be the only basis for a decision about a person. If you cannot explain, from the footage itself, why a read makes sense, do not act on it.

5. Uses that are prohibited

You may not use CapoScore, or any output from it, for:

6. What the colours mean

Reports use colours as shorthand. They are descriptions of signal patterns, not verdicts.

7. If a report concerns you

If you appear in a recording that was analysed and you want it removed, or you believe a report about you has been misused, write to info@caposcore.com.
